For the past 8 years the Maui Vacation Rental Association (www.MVRA.net) has worked with local government to develop a fair and reasonable approach to regulating Vacation Rentals on Maui. Prior administrations have given us assurances both orally and in writing that if we applied for a conditional use permit we would be allowed to continue operating while the permit was being processed. That promise has now been broken and we have exhausted all diplomatic and political remedies, leaving us no other options other than enforcing this contact and our rights through the courts.
MVRA is working with the County and are hopeful that new legislation will be in place during 2009. Please join us as we move forward to becoming a full trade organization, working to help others in our community.
Reservation agents and property managers are asked to collect dues from each of their individual clients.
MVRA is a 501 C-6 Corporation. Dues and voluntary contributions are tax deductible as a business expense.
Note: Membership categories will be used during a future election, such that one Director is elected from each category. |
