TVR'S:
Legislation for vacation rental units WITHOUT the owner living on
the
property will be worked on in 2009. We are hopeful that the
spirit of compromise can be continued, and the County will deliberate
this important legislation early in the year.
It
must be noted that most TVR owners contribute substantially to the
economy every year. They purchase goods and services on the island,
and unlike B&B owners that do most of the work on their property,
the TVR owners hire gardeners, cleaners, maintenance staff, reservation
agents, and pool cleaners. In most cases 100% of the vacation
rental income is spent in the local economy.
